Richard Simmons has a new health update. The American fitness expert shared his diagnosis on social networking sites a day after sparking concern with a cryptic Facebook post. In a Facebook post dated March 19, he said, “There was a strange-looking bump under my right eyebrow.” I had a tube neosporin that I used in the morning and evening. It was still there. My dermatologist was needed.” Richard revealed that after describing his visit to the doctor, he received a diagnosis of skin cancer. “He said basal cell carcinoma,” continued Richard. “I told him to stop calling my name dirty.” He laughed. Richard–who has mostly retired from the public eye since being an aerobics icon in the late ’80s–provided a detailed account of the day he received his diagnosis, including receiving what appeared to be a curettage and electrodesiccation procedure, a process which involves removing skin growths.
