A lawsuit filed by Jamie Foxx is threatening to disrupt the holiday season. On Wednesday, a woman listed as Jane Doe accused the actor of sexual assault in 2015. According to Variety, the woman said Jamie took her to a secluded corner of the Catch rooftop bar in New York. She claims that Foxx “groped her under the pants and rubbed her breasts against her will”, according to the outlet. She is seeking compensation from CNN for “physical and mental injuries, anxiety and distress, embarrassment and economic harm.” However, the amount is not specified. The suit says the plaintiff and a friend had a table next to Jamie Foxx and the bar owner, Mark Birnbaum. Around 1 am local time, a friend of the woman asked Jamie to take a picture. Jamie Foxx then allegedly turned to the plaintiff, and he hurled some compliments. He reportedly compared her looks to Gabrielle Union and commented,”Wow, you have that supermodel body” and”You smell so good.”Following the compliments, the woman claims Jamie Foxx led her by the arm to the more secluded area. She was wearing a crop top. She claims that Jamie touched her breasts underneath the crop top and caught her off guard. The woman claims that Foxx stopped touching her and walked away when the woman’s friend came to find her. Woman Files Lawsuit Against Jamie under New York Adult Survivors Act Following alleged assault, woman claims she felt sore, and needed medical treatment. The suit was filed in New York Adult Survivors Act which gave victims a year to file a sexual abuse claim that could have been thrown out due to statutes of limitations.
The plaintiff says the alleged assault left her feeling sore, and required her to seek medical attention. The deadline for filing lawsuits under this act is today, Nov. 23, and Jamie Foxx’s lawsuit was filed Wednesday, Nov. 22. He was spotted with his rumored lover in Mexico in late September. Cassie, Diddy’s former girlfriend and Bad Boy Records singer of about 10 years accused him of sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and assault one week before the Survivors Act expired. Both parties settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount less than 48 hours later.
