A day after announcing that his wife Hayley Erbert, 29, had an emergency craniectomy, Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough took to social media with an update. He wrote, “Hayley’s will, her resilience, and her strength have always been an inspiration to me, but never more than the past 48 hours,” in a simple Instagram text message on Friday, Dec. 8. “She has now begun the long road to recovery. We are so grateful for your love and support. The kindness that we’ve been shown in this incredibly unfathomable, and life changing time is immeasurable.”
Derek acknowledged the offers of help he’d received in the aftermath of Hayley’s hospitalization. The offers of help have been made have been both humbling and greatly appreciated. The TV star gave an update on the condition of his wife after making a sobering statement during his tour. He shared on the same platform that Hayley (whom he married in August) was rushed to hospital after becoming “disoriented” after a Washington, D.C. performance. He explained that Hayley was stable in a December 7th post, before asking fans for their “prayer and positivity”.
3.2 million people on the platform follow Derek. Many of them took to the comment thread to express their support. Jennifer Love Hewitt was one of the celebrities who posted their support. She wrote: “Haven’t stopped praying and will not stop.” You are lucky to have beautiful families and each other.
Peta Murgatroyd responded with a series of heart-shaped emojis. On Wednesday, Derek’s JulianneHough used Instagram Stories to express her love for Derek and his new sister-in-law. She wrote: “Please send your prayers and all of your love, healing, and light to Hayley & Derek.” “Thank you with all our hearts!”
