Southern Charm star Austen Kroll said the death of former girlfriend Olivia Flowers‘ brother, Conner, actually brought the exes “closer together.”
“It’s such a tragedy. Austen Kroll, 36, said to a group reporters at BravoCon, Saturday, November 4, that no one knew how to deal with this. It was not a happy time for Olivia and me when it all happened. It was “tough” to watch the season 9 airings for Olivia, 31. She had to see the details about his hookup with Taylor Ann Green, her friend.
“We’re working through it and I can’t but want to keep her as a friend,” Austen said of his ex whom he had dated for just a few weeks in 2022. Even if she shouts at me or says things. I want to be in her life.”Olivia’s brother, Conner, died from an accidental fentanyl overdose on January 30, per a coroner’s report obtained by Page Six, one week before his 33rd birthday. He struggled with addiction for years, and was just out of rehab two days prior to overdosing. Austen is very open about his desire to stand by Olivia after Conner’s passing. “It was difficult for me, because I felt that I should have been there for her. But I’ve chosen not to do so,” the reality star said on November 2 on Andy Cohn of Watch what Happens Live.
He still “flew” out of the door the moment he saw Olivia after Conner died, despite the awkwardness. “I ran down to her and we had this romcom movie moment where we met in the driveway, collapsing together and it was a moment that you can’t describe,” he remembered. While Austen leans in to support Olivia at this time, he has admitted that he is single for the moment as the Charleston group drama settles. He told BravoTV in September: “I have made a deliberate decision not to date anyone at the present.”
